Wonder how some women have smooth, velvety skin and wish you could have the same? Wish no more, as here I’ll share an easy and fun way to get soft and glowing skin: homemade body scrubs. This recipe comes just in time to soothe dry, chapped winter skin.
If you’ve never done a homemade sugar scrub before, you’re missing out. Homemade products are natural, without parabens, irritating sulfates and overbearing scents. Perhaps you’re not interested in paying high spa prices or dishing out big bucks for beauty buys. Below is an affordable and fun skin treatment. Once you try, you‘ll wonder how you lived without this stuff!
Small Bowl •Measuring cups • ½ cup White sugar • ¼ Brown sugar (optional) •5-6 tsp water • 2 tsp baking soda (for more exfoliation) • 2 tsp honey or olive oil• 1-2 drops essential oil of your choice (optional)
Add white and/or brown sugars and baking soda into bowl •Slowly add in the water tablespoon by tablespoon, keeping a“scoopable” consistency •Important: add water by tablespoon to avoid making the scrub too watery and having to start over • add honey or olive oil• Add the drops of essential oil and give your mixture another swirl• viola!
Hop in the shower and get good and drenched (about 1 minute) •Scoop about a tablespoon of scrub into your hand, and work on one leg, working your way up • Move to the other leg, and work the way up the rest of your body• Rinse and repeat in sections until you’ve treated your whole body • Make sure to rinse off well…nothing’s worse than having your clothes stick to you!
